I'm back

It has been so long y'all. I have been trying to keep up to date on everyone else blogs, but my own.
I have had some major changes in my life. I have my first "big kid job" I am teaching kindergarten and I love it. I have moved. Oh and I am GETTING MARRIED!!!!! The wedding is set for June 5th!
I am thinking about starting a new blog for my new upcoming life!

I promise that I will stay more update regardless of what blog I choose! :)

I'm connected!

So I am typing this post from my couch in my new apartment. I finally am connected to the outside world. I'm so excited to read what has been going on in y'alls lives!
My apartment is a major fixer upper, we're talking about 1970's' wooden cabinets and linoleum floor, I didn't want to put a lot of money into fixing it up, so mainly I am just painting. It will do for now, I will try to post pictures once it's completed.
T and I are still going strong, he is so wonderful, as is his family. His mother has accepted me as one of her own children, which is great because I am now two hours from my own.
Well, I am going to go catch up on some blogs!

I'm still around!

I have been off the radar for a long time now. Here is a quick update...
I finally got a job. I am teaching Kindergarten in a community about 3 hours from my hometown. By getting this job I have also had to move. I'm currently working on my apartment (it is a big fixer upper) and I will post pics soon. I just signed up for cable and interent so I am finally going to be connected to blog world again!

So I realize that I have been slacking on here as of lately...like really slacking, okay I suck. I have been super busy teaching my UB kids, up until last Thursday. So once again I am unemployed. I am still on the search for a job, but so far no luck.
Between my lack of posting I have in fact met someone. He is so wonderful. He is 26, and every bit as country as one can get. I love it! He is so wonderful with Nach...I really feel lucky to have him in my life. The only down side is that he lives 2 hours away. He is wanting me to apply for teaching positions up there, but I just don't know. (Though I am seriously considering it, what could happen?!?!?!)




The three of us are going camping this weekend. I'm really excited! Well I better go pack!

Busy

I promise y'all I'm still here. I have been super busy with job hunting and teaching UB. I promise for a real update soon. I have yet to find a job. :( But I'm just trying to stay positive. I know that God has a plan for me, so I'm trying not to worry.
I have been so busy that I haven't even read any of my blog buddies. I hope everyone is doing alright. I will post a real update soon. So sad about MJ, FF, and EM.

Screening Interview

Tomorrow I have a screening interview with a school system. I am soo nervous! I'm terrified I'll freeze up and not answer questions the way they want them answered. I really would love this job...there are two possible openings. I can't even figure out what I am going to wear either (I am stressing out)! I am thinking about this little combo...

I've had the skirt for awhile now and I have yet to wear it and I thought that it might be alright for tomorrow's interview. What do y'all think? Oh and of course I'll keep the jewelry simple with my pearl earrings and Pandora bracelet.

I got a call yesterday from a school system in WV they are going to post more openings Thursday and they want me to fax in their bid sheets. I really want the job I am interviewing for tomorrow, if I had my choice (there is about a $4,000 difference in pay, between the two).
I also have orientation tomorrow at 8 a.m. for my "month" long English teaching job with Upward Bound. I am really nervous because I will be teaching high school kids, which I have never done. I am so used to the little ones I don't know what I am going to do.
I better go figure out what I am going to wear for that interview.
Let's hope I get past this interview and sail on through to get the job. Please keep your fingers crossed for me!

Job Hunting

There is not a high demand for elementary teachers in this area. Which isn't a good thing for me. I have been filling out application after application. Yesterday I dropped off some at a couple school boards in the area. One told me that they would put me on the list for a screening interview! :)
I've also mailed out some applications. I called today to resubmit my app for some newly posted positions and they said all they needed was a copy for my certificate. I asked if I should mail it to the same place I did my applications and they said I could fax it in (which I took as a good sign!).
My plan is to begin working on my masters and get a few years of teaching under my belt, before packing up and heading south! So I am more than ready to get this show on the road!
Hopefully I will hear something soon! Any of y'all have advice for finding a job right out of college?

Memorial Day Weekend

We've had a pretty fun weekend. Nathan and I tagged along with Mom on Friday and Saturday to a wedding that my brother was in. Nathan had an amazing time, he got to dance with the bride and caught the prize (i.e. the garter). =)
Yesterday and today have been lazy days. Today NACH, dad, and I went fishing! We actually did pretty good, though I haven't tried to take a fish off the hook...I'm to darn scared!

Just when I thought I couldn't love Paula any more I read this book (in a day and a half, really I couldn't set it down)! This book is so wonderful, it really gives us an insight into Paula's life and how far she has traveled. If y'all haven't picked up then I recommend you do so! She really is an inspiration!

Almost There!

Well graduation is Saturday and I can not wait. Leading up to graduation there are a few events leading up to the big day. Tuesday night the education department hosted an "Apple Pinning" ceremony for the education majors.

Here are some picture from the ceremony. The majority of these people have been a part of my daily life for the past couple of years (their are only 11 education majors this semester) and needless to say I am going to miss these people when we go our separate ways.

*FYI I've been under the weather for a couple of days now, so I look pretty rough! ;)

Oh and did anyone else shed tears over Grey's this evening? I lost it. Plus I have the biggest crush on Jeffery Dean Morgan so anytime he makes an appearance I consider it a good episode!

Graduation is just around the corner and I could not be more excited. The only thing I am really stressing over is finding a job. There are very few openings in this area for elementary teachers, but I will keep praying. I want to teach in this area for a couple of years, then move south. Oh well I suppose I need to concentrate on the present right now!
Well I am going to go attempt to cool off!

I promise y'all I'm still here! Last week was Spring Break, but it sure didn't feel like it. I almost needed a break after my break lol.
So does anyone else love when google gets decked out for a special occasion? I absolutely love it! So if you haven't googled today here is a glimpse of their Earth Day decor!
As graduation rounds the corner I have been staying extremely busy trying to get job apps together. I am so scared that I will not find a job teaching around here. (I eventually plan on moving further south to teach, but I really want to stay in the area for the next year or so to teach.)
I have so many pictures to post from Easter and I will get to it eventually, I promise! =) Well as soon as I find my camera cord, like I said hectic week!

Southern Belles

Has anyone seen the previews for this?? I was just flipping through channels and saw a preview. It is a new show that premiers May 21st. I think it looks pretty good, especially because it takes place here in the grand ole' state of Kentucky! =)
In other news today has been so nice. N and I colored eggs and watched "Horton Hears a Who!" (Pictures to come, hopefully! ; ) )

Spring Break

I am officially on Spring Break! (yay) I passed my final observation/interview for student teaching which means your truly will be graduating in less than a month!

What I hope to accomplish over break:

• Spend quality time with N.
• Clean (like a mad woman)
• Tanning bed
• Sleep
• Celebrate my birthday on Wed.
• Physical Therapy
• Go car shopping

Final Evaluation

Tomorrow is my final student teaching evaluation. I am so ready for the stress to be over! I am mostly worried about my interview.
In other news I am finally going to physical therapy for my knee on Wednesday. Which brings me to a question that has been bugging me, what does one wear to P.T.?
